For more than 35 years, legions of fans have tuned in to Garrison Keillor's A Prairie Home Companion to be entertained by his low-key reflections, sharp insights, and trademark humor.

In a first for the show, on Thursday February 4th, a performance of A Prairie Home Companion will be broadcast Live in HD to big screens across the country, including Middlebury's Town Hall Theater. The special two-hour presentation begins at 8:00 pm.

Each week, A Prairie Home Companion is heard by more than 4 million listeners on public radio stations across the country. The show, performed before a live audience at the Fitzgerald Theater in St. Paul, has been host to thousands of wonderful guest artists through the years, including superstars as varied as Steve Martin, Yo-Yo Ma, NOra Jones, and Renée Fleming, as well as folk favorites such as the recent THT guest Greg Brown. And there have been adventures along the way, including broadcasts from Canada, Scotland, England, Germany, Iceland, and almost every one of the 50 states.

Keillor recalls, "When the show started, it was something funny to do with my friends, and then it became an achievement that I hoped would be successful, and now it's a good way of life."
