Lorraine Nygaard, singer and soloist, leads this compelling tribute, joined by Attila Fias on piano Ross MacDonald on bass, and Hans Verhoeven on drums.A victoria-based songwriter, Lorraine has been singing her whole life, and performing professionally for over 15 years. She has appeared numerous times at Hermann's Jazz Club, as well as at venues throughout Vancouver Island and the Lower Mainland.
Lorraine's deep, lifelong love of the music and life of Nina Simone runs straight through this performance - her songs, her strength, her fire. From "Feeling Good", to "I Put a Spell on You" and "Sinnerman", this is more than a tribute: it's an intimate, soulful evening that pulls you in, lifts you up, and stays with you long after the last note.
