From the Vancouver-based, award-winning, independent theatre company that produced last season's Kayak, Alley Theatre brings us a suspenseful psychodrama by Hannah Moscovitch (East of Berlin, The Russian Play), who has been touted as "Canada's hottest young playwright" by the Globe and Mail, National Post, and Now Magazine.
When 4-year-old Claire (Marisa Smith: Kayak, Problem Child) is adopted into the family, 6-year-old Aaron (Daniel Arnold: Any Night, The Romeo Initiative) has to learn to "love" his new monster of a sister. "Meticulously directed" (New York Times) by award-winning director and playwright Amiel Gladstone (A Craigslist Cantata, Are We Cool Now?), Little One is told through the now adult voices of its two main characters and weaves stories of childhood horror and teenage humiliation into a twisted, wryly funny, and ultimately haunting narrative.
Local innovators and husband and wife team Marisa Smith and Daniel Arnold have teamed up on four Alley Theatre productions to date. Little One marks their second time playing opposite one another, but first time as brother-sister.
