Today, November 9th the PuSh International Performing Arts Festival announces its 2016 Festival programming with a launch party at The Fox Cabaret. The program launch party marks the start of celebrations leading up to the 12th annual PuSh Festival, which takes place January 19 to February 7, 2016 in venues across Vancouver.

Artistic and Executive Director Norman Armour will unveil the full 2016 PuSh Festival programming and artist lineup. The evening will be hosted by local funnyman Charlie Demers, who will make his on-stage theatrical debut in the upcoming Festival, and features performances by Vancouver's musical mad genius Geoff Berner with his transgressive punk klezmer; local darlings Theatre Replacement with a sneak peek of their new project, Town Criers; and beloved songstress Veda Hille with new songs from her upcoming release.

In addition to being a first glimpse of the 2016 PuSh Festival performances and artists, the program launch party is a celebration of PuSh's newest partner, The Fox Cabaret. PuSh is delighted to partner with Main Street's newest hotspot-which will be the new host and home to Club PuSh during the Festival-giving PuSh an important anchoring presence and foothold in East Vancouver. During the three weeks of the 2016 Festival, Club PuSh at The Fox is where PuSh patrons can catch smaller-scale, experimental shows, rub shoulders with Festival artists and staff, and grab a few drinks with friends in a relaxed, cabaret-style performance venue.

Tickets for the 2016 PuSh Festival program launch party are on sale at pushfestival.ca. Tickets are $20 (plus service charges).

The PuSh International Performing Arts Festival is Vancouver's signature mid-winter cultural event, taking place over three weeks each January in theatres and venues across the city. The PuSh Festival presents groundbreaking, contemporary works of theatre, dance, music and multimedia by acclaimed local, national and international artists. It draws 30,000 attendees annually.

The 2016 PuSh Festival takes place January 19 to February 7 at venues throughout Vancouver. The 2016 PuSh Festival hosts more than 150 performances and events over 20 days, and features artists from Canada, Australia, England, France, Lebanon and the United States.
