New Musical ONCE UPON A FROST Comes to Festival Place Image

On the heels of Festival Players' Christmas production, Singin' in the Rain, Festival Place is pleased to present Once Upon a Frost: A New Musical, January 11 - 17, 2019.

Written and directed by local musician Michael Clarke, Once Upon a Frost follows the heart warming story of Elly, a shop owner who has a brush with the well known character Jack Frost. When Jack visits Elly's shop he loses his power to bring winter. The only option to get it back is to work with Elly to save her shop from permanently closing.

Building on a 15 year history of producing and presenting musical theatre, Festival Players is proud to take this ambitious step in creating a brand new production. The development of Once Upon a Frost was supported through workshops and classes made possible by the Rotary Club of Sherwood Park. Festival Place continues to be Alberta's #1 Presenter of Professional Artists. The 2017/2018 season showcased an eclectic mix of over 80 incredibly talented performers. The 2018/2019 season carries on the same ambitious standard of entertainment, with over 50 performances already scheduled between September 2018 and April 2019, with new shows added throughout the year.
