Buck Productions Set To Produce Female Driven Fiction Series BOUNDLESS

By:

Buck Productions Set To Produce Female Driven Fiction Series BOUNDLESS ImageBuck Productions CEO Sean Buckley announced the Toronto-based company has signed on to produce the historic fiction series Boundless. Written by Canadian actress/writer/producer Kate Campbell. The show will consist of 8, 1 hour episodes.

The series delves into the role women held during the second World War, in particular the role of Canadian female pilots. Inspired by real events, the Ontario shot fictional series is a mix between Hidden Figures and League of Their Own, and is inspired by the writer's grandmother, who was a pilot.

"The show explores an integral part of Canadian history that isn't often portrayed on the screen," said Sean Buckley, Owner and CEO, Buck Productions. "When Kate approached us with Boundless, we were immediately drawn to the strong female characters and passion behind the story. She is a huge talent and I couldn't think of a more important story for Buck Productions to tell."

"I was inspired to write about women pilots of the second world war because of the stories my grandmother used to share," said Kate Campbell, Writer, Boundless. "The narrative surrounding WWII has always focused on male heroes. I want to shed a light on the female heroines during that era and I am so thankful to have found such a great team in Sean and Buck Productions who share my passion for bringing these stories out into the world."

The series is slated to begin production in Summer 2018.

During WWII, renowned aviatrix Jacqueline Cochran's dream of an elite all female pilot training program stalls out trying to play by the rules of the existing patriarchal system. The program is threatened to be nixed, until rogue new recruit, Betty Ward, shows Jackie the only way for them to succeed is not by trying to conform, but by blazing an entirely new trail, on their own terms. Through controversy, jealousy, heartbreak and love, this band of women, from all walks of life, find their way into this new world, and through their love of flying they find their liberation and ultimately end up changing the course of history.

Buck Productions is an international award-winning content creation house, with an expansive portfolio across feature film, television, branded content, documentaries and commercials. Owner and CEO Sean Buckley has cultivated a concept-first culture, where ideas and end-products are paramount. Recent projects include, a 40-hour original programming deal with Reelz Channel, signing X-Men writer David Hayter as Head Writer and Executive Producer of Supernatural TV Cop Drama ReincarNATE and the feature film Milton's Secret based on the book by renowned spiritual author Eckhart Tolle and starring Donald Sutherland and Michelle Rodriguez. With over 20 years in business, Buck Productions creates strong content across all platforms and is considered one of the most diverse production houses in North America.

Recently seen in Gone Girl, and nominated for a Maverick Movie Award for best supporting actress for her role in the feature film Badsville, that opened this past weekend in the US, directed by April Mullen, Kate Campbell is a diverse performer whose immense love for storytelling, music, and art began at an early age while growing up in rural Ontario, Canada.

Now an international singer and recording artist, Kate has enjoyed working with some of the industry's most celebrated talents: Robby Krieger of the Doors, Jeff Goldblum and his Mildred Snitzer Orchestra, and award-winning jazz vibraphonist, Nick Mancini. Kate is the vocalist for the Martini Kings, who, after 19 albums, are in the process of recording their first full-length vocal album entitled 'Smile'. Kate released an EP last December entitled 'i am that girl' and regularly performs at Michael Holmes' Purple Room Supper Club in Palm Springs, former "home" of the Rat Pack. She belongs to the artistic collective, LS & CO, based in Toronto, LA, and Montreal and headed by artistic director Michèle Lonsdale Smith. Kate is honored to have had her writing work shopped by the collective. An aviation enthusiast, Kate has spent years interviewing and researching women pilots across North America, and is now on her way to obtaining her private pilot's licence.
