“Oh I needed that laugh. I can tell you. Feel quite lightened truth be told.”
Jack and Freddie attend ballroom dance classes at their local Recreation Centre. Freddie has been tasked by the teacher to bring Jack up to speed. Jack has lived Freddie’s lifetime three times over. Jack wants to woo his wife, and Freddie needs the company and to calm his scattered brain. They meet every Tuesday, to try to waltz.
This quietly sparkling tale of coping and a friendship bridging generations, written by 2020 Pinter Commission recipient Miriam Battye (Scenes with Girls, Strategic Love Play, Succession), finds a home in London for the first time.
