For over three decades STOMP has been entertaining audiences all over the world with its unique blend of rhythm, movement, physical comedy and dance. This summer, it's back in Brighton & Hove by popular demand, exclusively at The Old Market.
A theatrical experience like no other, STOMP is the event that has showed the globe that even the most ordinary objects like plastic bags, bin lids, brooms and even the kitchen sink can be brought to life in extraordinary ways.
STOMP finds beauty and music in the mundane. It turns brooms into instruments and handclapping into a conversation; the junk and clutter of urban life becomes the source of infectious rhythm and wonder. Eight talented performers take the audience on a journey through sound, where rhythm is the only language.
The incredible full programme has been announced for Back to Live, a unique children’s festival from four Sussex seaside venues - Komedia, Ropetackle, Brighton Open Air Theatre (BOAT) and The Old Market (TOM).
The international phenomenon that is STOMP is coming home to the city where it all began in early 2022 - all in the name of raising funds for a much-loved Brighton venue.
Phoenix from the Flames will be an evening of music and spoken word performance, featuring a performance from soul singer Alice Russell. The event will also see sets performed by artists including alternative R&B artist Scarlett Fae, poet Jenny Foulds and hip hop artist Phonetic, as well as a performance led by female members from STOMP.
