Theatre Renegade's COURTING DRAMA Returns to Southwark Playhouse

For the first time in 2018, Theatre Renegade's widely acclaimed Courting Drama returns to the Large at Southwark Playhouse this June.

Ten handpicked writers and directors 'speed date' to find a new collaborative partner that will help them bring a 20 minute piece of new writing to life.

Relocating to Southwark Playhouse in 2014 from the Bush Theatre, Courting Drama showcases five new collaborative partnerships and the five pieces that they create and mould together over a three week period. Did they meet their creative soul-mate, or want to rip each other's hair out?

Writers and Directors that have been involved in Courting Drama have worked with companies such as: Hampstead Theatre, Bush Theatre, Hightide, Almeida Theatre, Royal Court Theatre, Royal National Theatre, Young Vic Theatre and Punchdrunk and have won or been finalists for awards including: Olivier Award, the Bruntwood Prize, Verity Bargate Award and the George Devine Award.

Taking part in June's Courting Drama:

- 2017 JMK Award-winner Josh Roche directs Nkenna Akunna's Good Fit

- Bec Martin-Williams directs Christopher Adams' Joy Child

- Maud Dromgoole directs award-winning playwright Stephen Laughton's Dirty F*cking Jew
