Teddy Bear's Birthday A Picnic For Hampshire Theatre Makers
The Portsmouth Guildhall Studio becomes the location for a birthday party like no other when Brymore Productions premieres BEXLEY'S BRILLIANT BIRTHDAY at the recently launched studio space.
BEXLEY'S BRILLIANT BIRTHDAY is an interactive theatrical production ideal for zero to six year olds, featuring beautiful puppets and the unique storytelling skills of Brymore Productions.
"We're thrilled to be premiering this charming new piece of theatre for young audiences at the Portsmouth Guildhall Studio. There's something incredibly exciting about launching a new production in a new space, especially one that has such an interest in engaging the local community." says writer and performer Sean Bryan.
BEXLEY'S BRILLIANT BIRTHDAY sees teddy bear Bexley take control of his own story after a series of boring birthdays leaves him wanting more. Through a series of games, grizzly bears, chocolate cake and new friends, Bexley turns his frown upside down and sets himself up for the best birthday of all time.
Brymore Productions heads to Portsmouth as part of a greater national tour which sees them performing several of their engaging productions in theatres, museums and libraries across the country, culminating in an extended season at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
"We're passionate about making theatre for families that treats children as the intelligent and creative people they are, while ensuring the adults that accompany them enjoy themselves as well." says creator and performer Hollie Bryan.
The performance features original puppets created by Hampshire born designer Alex Milledge, in her third collaboration with the New Forest based Brymore Productions. "They give me such freedom to create." says Milledge "It's a great opportunity to expand my skills and techniques whilst creating loveable characters for their audiences to enjoy." In addition to Milledge's puppets audiences are encouraged to bring their cuddliest friends to share in the festivities.
Brymore Productions will also return to the Portsmouth Guildhall Studio on Saturday May 25 with their national tour of THE BUREAU OF UNTOLD STORIES, an interactive detective drama ideal for children over five.
