Tall Stories, the Olivier-nominated producers of The Gruffalo, present a sparkling new musical adventure for everyone aged 5-105 for a limited run of performances at The Vaudeville Theatre from 15 December 2017, prior to a 2018 tour. Let the Wilde Creatures take you on a fantastical journey through palaces, forests and beyond in this exciting new adaptation of Oscar Wilde's classic fairy tales.

Once upon a time there was a town that was dark and grey. The North Wind blew coldly through the streets and in the town square there was an empty platform where the statue of the Happy Prince had once stood. There is to be a new statue - but of whom? Which of the townsfolk is important enough to be immortalised in stone and raised above everyone else?

A live band of storytelling musicians bring characters from The Happy Prince, The Nightingale and the Rose and The Birthday of the Infanta to life, as they try to decide on the new statue. Will it be the pompous Mayor, the haughty Princess or the love-sick Student?

Hauntingly beautiful tales told with original live music, imaginative storytelling and a generous dash of comedy.

Tall Stories' 20th Year
In the company's 20th anniversary year, Tall Stories return to the classic fairy tales of Oscar Wilde, one of the authors who inspired them in their very first year. In 1997 Tall Stories staged their first shows, The Happy Prince and Other Stories and Alice and Mr Dodgson, to critical acclaim at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

Since then the company has come a long way, creating 28 shows over 20 years. Their productions have been performed in 15 countries on 6 continents, including the Sydney Opera House, on Broadway and in the West End, as well as in many school classrooms, rural touring networks and community halls along the way.

Tall Stories' production of Room on The Broom was nominated for an Olivier Award and their production of The Gruffalo was filmed by the Really Useful Group. The company is a registered charity whose larger scale work supports their smaller productions, allowing the company to create and tour shows such as Future Perfect - an interactive show for Year 6 students which tours free of charge to schools.

More information about the company can be found at www.tallstories.org.uk.
