THE WILD AT HEART to Showcase Three Short Plays by Tennessee Williams at HTH Arts Centre, 21 Nov-4 Dec

PORTRAIT OF A MADONNA, HELLO FROM BERTHA and A PERFECT ANALYSIS GIVEN BY A PARROT are three rarely seen short plays by one of the most groundbreaking playwrights of the 20th century, Tennessee Williams, brought to the stage by two up and coming theatre companies in London, StepbyStep Productions and Simple Life Productions in collaboration with HTH Arts Centre in THE WILD AT HEART. The productions will play 21st November - 4th December (excluding Sundays, Mondays and Tuesdays) at 8 p.m. Press night is set for 25th November 2015.

Usually performed separately, the three plays are about women of various ages, all of whom struggle against the restrictions of conformity in various ways. It is Williams at his best, drawing out the vulnerability of the desperately delicate, either enduring or submitting to that which threatens to break them, voicing a world he understood so well. 'A prayer for the wild at heart kept in cages.'

To allow the audience to further emerge themselves within this world of Tennessee, the plays will be accompanied by a live band formed by six brilliant musicians, playing jazz and blues as well as a themed bar, serving southern drinks throughout the evening. It is a three in one event, with theatre, live music and dance brought to you by young artists at a beautiful new venue on the rise.

Crouch End's landmark Hornsey Town Hall has been revitalised as the HTH Arts Centre, offering studio space, public galleries and rehearsal space alongside a diverse range of events from spoken word artists and live music to pop-up dinners and theatre. The interim project is led by ANA Arts Project, the creative producers behind a wealth of previous events at venues including the South Bank Centre, the Science Museum and the View from the Shard.

The two companies are ran by Vala Fannell (StepbyStep) and Maya Lindh (Simple Life), two young and ambitious theatre makers with a strong dedication to create beautiful and authentic theatre. Within the last year they have put on and contributed to four different theatre projects and two film projects, including sartre's No Way Out at the Canal Cafe? Theatre in Little Venice and a new Icelandic play at The Drayton Arms Theatre in South-Kensington.

HTH Arts Centre is located at The Broadway, Crouch End, London N8 9JJ. Performances run 21st November - 4th December. No performances on Sundays, Mondays and Tuesdays.
