Sheffield Theatres Welcomes Six New Trustees

Sheffield Theatres has announced the appointment of six new Trustees to its Board who will take up their new roles over the course of this year.

The new trustees: John Cowling, chartered accountant and former senior partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers; Surriya Falconer, owner of Falconer Associates and Consultant Director of MK PR; Julie A Kenny CBE, Chair and Chief Executive of Rotherham company Pyronix Limited; Professor Jackie Labbe, Pro-Vice Chancellor at the University of Sheffield; Graham Royle, Chairman and Chief Executive of GRI Group Limited and Giles Searby, a Commercial Litigation Partner at hlw Keeble Hawson, bring with them a wealth of skills, knowledge and experience which will support the Theatres' Senior Management Team in shaping the future of the organisation

The new Trustees join Sheffield Theatres following another successful year. The company received four awards at the UK Theatre Awards before retaining the title of Regional Theatre of the Year in The Stage Awards for an unprecedented second year. In July, the organisation will refurbish the Lyceum Theatre in a £1.9 million project. Sheffield Theatres has secured funding from the Arts Council England and Sheffield City Council and is now raising the remaining funds through public donations and trusts and foundations.

Neil Adleman, Chair of Sheffield Theatres' Board said: 'I am delighted to welcome these six local professionals to join the Board. The quality of the applicants was outstanding and I am thrilled that we have attracted such a diverse and talented group to join the Trustees. With inspiring and decisive leadership, Sheffield Theatres has placed itself at the forefront of regional theatre and with this strong Board of Trustees in place, I believe we will continue to do so.'
