New Theatre Announces Their June Events
Here we are almost at the halfway point of the year and to take us there we've lined up a family favourite musical, a seriously sexy ballet and a pair of long-standing West End favourites.
TUESDAY 1 - SATURDAY 5 JUNE
The Wizard of Oz
Once again Cardiff gets the jump on London's West End. Andrew Lloyd Webber won't be opening his Wizard of Oz until next year, but this week you can catch Orbit Theatre's production right here at the New. Perfect for half-term, all the classic songs are in place for a super show to delight young and old alike. Book now - matinees almost sold out!.
WEDNESDAY 9 - SATURDAY 12 JUNE
Dangerous Liaisons
First it was a scandalous novel, then it was an Oscar-winning film - now it's a seriously sexy dance from Northern Ballet Theatre. With its seductive storyline and stunning costumes, this acclaimed ballet is guaranteed to get you hot under the collar. If you are new to ballet, this is the perfect first ballet to come and see. Book now for an unforgettable visit.
MONDAY 14 - SATURDAY 19 JUNE
The Woman in Black
Prepare yourself for the spookiest theatre show in history. Back by popular demand, this is the play which will have you jumping out of your seat in fright whilst chilling your blood at the same time. A West End hit these past 21 years, over 7 million people have already experienced this enormously enjoyable show. Be sure to join them this month.
MONDAY 21 JUNE - SATURDAY 3 JULY
Blood Brothers
Rounding off June we have another show which has played in London for over 20 years. A firm favourite of Cardiff audiences, there are still some seats remaining for Willy Russell's powerful and moving musical. Well worth a return visit if you've seen it before, but if you have not - then what are you waiting for? Lyn Paul is simply brilliant as the mother forced to choose between her two sons only for her decision to have tragic consequences.
