Casting has just been announced for the first new musical to be staged at Live at Zédel at Crazy Coqs. Alex Parker Theatre Company, The Katie Lam Company and Fane Productions present AFTER YOU, with music by Alex Parker, book & lyrics by Katie Lam, and directed by Alastair Knights, Live at Zédel at Crazy Coqs, running 13 April - 22 April 2017. Press night is set for Friday, 14 April 2017 at 7pm.

Liam Doyle and Laura Tebbutt star in writing duo Alex Parker and Katie Lam's production, which is performed for the first time this April. Previously announced in December and now written, scored and cast, After You is the first musical conceived specifically for Crazy Coqs.

After You is a story about falling in love, the price of success, and the things we sometimes need to keep for ourselves. Meeting by chance at a cabaret performance, two strangers strike up a conversation. Unavailable and living incompatible lives, their connection is still sudden and deep. Unable to resist meeting again, they are soon consumed by a perfect secret that threatens to overwhelm the worlds they have worked so hard to earn.

Katie Lam and Alex Parker have been writing and producing musicals and musical theatre songs for three years, including commissioned numbers for the opening of the WhatsOnStage awards and for cabarets of Olivier award-winning actors including Janie Dee (Crazy Coqs) and Paul Baker (St. James Theatre Studio). Their previous shows include All Aboard, Amateur Dramatics: A Musical Comedy (both Electric Theatre) and The Railway Children: A Musical (starring Gina Beck and David Birrell, Holy Trinity, Guildford).

Crazy Coqs is one of Soho's most vibrant cultural spaces with a programme embracing multiple art forms. Showcasing many of the West End's most exciting musical theatre stars, Crazy Coqs has become the venue of choice for musical theatre cabaret, but After You will be the first full length musical to be presented at the venue and the first commission. Tasked with devising a modern narrative that would make contextual sense of the Crazy Coqs location whilst celebrating its unique intimacy, Katie Lam and Alex Parker have taken their inspiration from Brief Encounter, Falling in Love and The Way We Were to give a contemporary take on a classic love story.
