Twenty years since its London debut at The King's Head Theatre, Elegies for Angels, Punks and Raging Queens opens the Autumn season at The Space Arts Centre on the Isle of Dogs in East London.

With book and lyrics by Bill Russell and music by Janet Hood, the production will be directed by Joseph C Walsh who recently won The Hilton Edwards Award for Best Aspect of Production for 'Lilies or the Revival of a Romantic Drama' at The International Dublin Gay Theatre Festival 2012.

Walsh who is originally from Boston, MA, USA has previously directed The Laramie Project and Zanna Don't! at The Space.

Elegies is inspired by Edgar Lee Master's 'Spoon River Anthology' and the NAMES Project Memorial Quilt. It is a powerful, moving and uplifting celebration in spoken word and song, of those who have lost their lives to AIDS.

The show will run at The Space from September 18th to October 6th with press night on Thursday September 20th.
