7.30pm on May 7th (Election Night) & May 8th (Not Election Night!) at The Friends Meeting House see one of only two performances of Love Lies & Lyrics by Lesley Ross, an intimate portrayal of the life of a lyricist, as the man himself and his cast of West End singers takes you through twenty years of musical mayhem: song, stories and a sprinkling of sparkly drag!

The show will also act as a launch for the CD of the same name. Released by SimG Records, it features 30 singers from the world of the West End and TV, including Liz May Brice (Torchwood, Bad Girls), Daniel Boys (Avenue Q, TV's Any Dream Will Do), Sarah Lark (Oliver, TV's I'd Do Anything), Alex Tomkins (The Commitments) and Madalena Alberto (Evita at the Dominion).

The concert and CD will showcase songs from many of Lesley's shows, including the world conquering mini musical The Jolly Folly of Polly the Scottish Trolley Dolly, Edinburgh Fringe First nominee Little Red and the upcoming Barry the Penguin's Black & White Christmas, soon to be released as an audio and picture book featuring a West End star cast led by Kerry Ellis, with Doctor Who's Louise Jameson and narrated by the 9th Doctor Who himself, Christopher Eccleston.

But more than just a concert, this is the true story of a man who continues to flourish just at the fringes of success. So join Lesley and his guests Suzanne Procter, Helen Snow, Anthony Matteo and the irrepressible Gladys Allover to learn a little about the relationship between the lyricist and the composer, the wordsmith and the song, the man and his inspirations...

Featuring music by Aspinall, Brind, Victor, Williams, Gounod & Tchaikovsky.
