Pleasance Islington is in preparation for the 2011 Edinburgh Festival Fringe and to celebrate the vibrant festival atmosphere are presenting a six week Edinburgh preview season, featuring established actors and comedians performing alongside young up-and-coming talent, for only £5 per show.
Pleasance London is once again delivering the cutting edge in Comedy, with brand new shows from 2010 Edinburgh Comedy Award winners Russell Kane & Roisin Conaty, as well as a new hour for the Edinburgh Fringe established Richard Herring, Steve Hall & sketch group Idiots of Ants.Members of established Sketch groups are stepping out on their own at this years Fringe with David Reed & Humphrey Ker from The Penny Dreadfuls and Matthew Crosby from Pappy's, all debuting their fist solo show. Other new Kids on the festival block previewing their shows are Josh Widdicombe (last years FHM stand up winner) Benny Boot, Tom Price, Emily Watson-Howes and from Him & Her Joe Wilkinson.We have sketch from, The Beta Males, Lady Garden, Max and Ivan, Delete the Banjax and New Group Jigsaw. Attacking more serious matters head on, Pleasance presents Royal Court Young Writer Catherine O'Shea's poignant new verbatim play about asylum Fit For Purpose. Off the back of London success Return to the Silence, young devisers Curious Directive preview Your Last Breath combining multimedia, live-score and explosive choreography as they follow tracks into the Nordic mountains, maps, myths, motherhood and a miracle of modern science. Playwright and poet Richard Marsh' Skittles tells a story about love and sweets. We are also joined by award winning theatre company Tucked In whose latest creation Tim and Light tells a moving story of courage using playful and physical puppetry, suitable for the entire family.
