Former Circa! and La Clique performer Jess Love brings her Circus Australia Award winning debut solo show to London's Southbank for six performances, filling a macabre playground replete with hopscotch, blood spatter, rollerskates and broken glass in this visually enchanting, funny and surreal show about the mixing the innocent and the sinister.

First performed in her native Australia in 2009, And the Little One Said... also garnered an Honorable Mention for Best Circus Show at the Melbourne Fringe Festival, and a nomination for Best Circus Show at the Adelaide Fringe Festival, and has enjoyed sell-out seasons across Australia.

Jess Love - who has toured in Australia, the UK and internationally with various troupes including Circus Oz, Dislocate Physical Theatre, Gurlesque, Medium Rare, The Tiny Top, Circus Monoxide, The Burlesque Hour, Duckie - specialises in hula-hoop, tumbling, acrobatics, skipping, double trapeze and hoop diving, but descends into macabre sideshow feats as her baby-doll dress wearing persona discovers that her toys don't want to play nicely.

Jess Love said, "I'm obsessed with the beautifully dark, I love to laugh, I think David Lynch is a genius, and Mark Ryden's art is sublime. So I made a show that looks, feels and lives these things. I'm the girl the circus ran away from, and this show is what happened when they did."

Combining high-level circus skills with pathos, humour and playfulness - not to mention an absurd interactive intermission, Jess Love endears as much as she harrows with her dark clowning and dirty acrobatic feats.

Australian born Jess Love is a founding member of the multi-award winning circus company The Candy Butchers. In 2004 she was given an honourable mention at the Melbourne Fringe Awards for Best Female Performer for her work in their debut show A Circus Sweetmeat. In 2013 Jess was part of the London line up of the La Soiree season which was awarded an Olivier Award for Best Entertainment. Jess has toured internationally with companies including La Clique, Circus Oz, Circa, Duckie and The Burlesque Hour. Her first solo show 'And The Little One said...' premiered at the Melbourne Fringe in 2009, winning the Circus Australia Award and runner up for Best Circus Show. In 2010 it was nominated for Best Circus Show at the Adelaide Fringe. Jess was awarded a London Cabaret award for Best Circus Act in 2014. She is based in London and is currently touring her new solo circus theatre show Notorious Strumpet & Dangerous Girl which debuted in the Melbourne Fringe 2016 winning Original New Circus award and earlier this year won the Best Circus and Physical Theatre award in the Adelaide Fringe Festival.
