GREASE Returns To London

It is nothing short of a global phenomenon. First came the smash Broadway and West End musical, then the 1978 hit motion picture. To celebrate the 40th anniversary of the cinema release, the world's favourite musical is returning to London for a strictly limited time!

The original high school musical returns to London! Watch as Sandy and Danny fall in love all over again to all your favourite hits including Grease (Is The Word), Hopelessly Devoted To You, You're The One That I Want, Sandy, Greased Lightning and more.

From humble beginnings as a rough Off-Broadway workshop to the glitz of Broadway and Hollywood, Grease The Musical is a pop culture sensation. Centre Stage London brings this celebrated musical back to London with an all new cast!

For this production, on the 40th anniversary of the release of the film, Centre Stage London are taking Grease back to its roots in a very exciting production. Director Stuart James says, "Grease is about the beginning of a new era in the history of American sexuality, fuelled by cars, drive-in movies and more than anything, rock and roll- the first music ever created specifically for teenagers. Like Hair, Grease was intended to be aggressive, unpolished, un-traditional and un-commercial. Focusing above all on authenticity, rejecting Broadway polish and glitz, creating a "happening" more than a traditional musical. This is what I intend to achieve with this Centre Stage London production and I'm incredibly excited for audiences to see the show in a way many of them wouldn't have before."

Centre Stage London's Chair, Alexis Rose, said "We always aim to have a varied season to bring a range of experiences to both our audiences and membership, mixing big titles with smaller, concept-driven shows. Following on from the huge success of last year's production of Fame: The Musical, we are delighted to be ending this year with a very special production of Grease. Not only is this the fastest selling show in Centre Stage history, but it is an opportunity to bring a version of this well-loved title to London audiences which is much closer to the original."
