The Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society have endorsed two new short-term insurance packages put together specifically for performers at the Fringe festival.

The companies Wrightsure and Rees Astley have worked with the society to come up with options suitable for the short runs and high financial risks of the Fringe.

Kath Mainland, the Chief Executive of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society told Thom Dibdon of The Stage: "There is no legal requirement for participants to have insurance, but the fringe society would absolutely recommend that they do."
