The life of Deep Throat star Linda Lovelace may not seem to be the most obvious subject for a rock musical, but this show works surprisingly well simply due to the fabulous vocals on show from its American cast. It's a tale of sex, power, abuse and redemption, and yes, of course Lovelace's story is simplified, and yes, there's the occasional teeth-grindingly cringey moment or piece of dialogue. Ignore that, and enjoy the sound emanating from a magnificent cast.

Tickets are pricey for this show, which might explain why the audience was so scant, but it's definitely one to look out for; it's also the only musical I've seen so far that's had spot-on sound levels, so congratulations to the team for that.
