Dine Centre Stage With The Stars At Curve's Inaugural Charity Gala
Curve is asking audience members to swap the stalls for the stage at its inaugural celebrity gala dinner and charity auction on Wednesday 9 November.
Featuring stars from some of their most recent productions, those attending this spectacular, fun event will be greeted with a black tie champagne reception before taking their seats on stage for a three course dinner hosted by stars such as X Factor winner Sam Bailey, stars of Strictly Come Dancing's Danny Mac and Lesley Joseph, EastEnders' Emma Barton, Emmerdale's Tom Lister as well as performances from some of the young cast of Curve's latest community production, Bugsy Malone*.
The fundraising evening is being held by Curve, a registered charity, to enable the theatre to continue and expand its work with young people within the region as well as the range of participation and learning activities including offered by the theatre which includes free and low-cost shows and workshops, signed, captioned, relaxed and audio described performances.
Chief Executive Chris Stafford and Artistic Director Nikolai Foster said in a joint statement:
"We're committed to finding new ways to ensure Curve is truly accessible to all. As proud winners of the UK 2015 Theatre Award for Promotion of Diversity we would like to build on the work we are already doing to increase access for everyone who lives, learns and works within Leicester and Leicestershire. The money raised from this evening will go towards bursaries for children and young people, free workshops and learning activities for schools and young people - making a real difference in people's lives. We are indebted to all the artists for giving their time and we are the incredibly grateful for the terrific auction lots we have so generously received from friends across our county and indeed the UK"
Following dinner, guests will then be treated to a lavish evening of exclusive entertainment and will have the opportunity to show their support in a special charity auction featuring an array of luxury lots and once in a lifetime experiences donated by Curve and local businesses.
Tickets for Curve's inaugural Charity Gala cost just £100 and include reception drinks, 3 course meal with wine and entertainment. Tables of 8 are available at the discounted price of £600.
