Fine Mess Theatre will bepresenting the World Première of their tragicomic one man show The Common Land, on the 29th, 30th and 31st of May 2014 at the Upstairs at the Three and Ten venue, as part of the Brighton Fringe Festival.

An hour-long adventure in the farmlands of East England, as hilarious as it is devastatingly bleak, The Common Land tells the story of Tom Head, born and bred in the 1,500 square miles of East Anglia known as The Fens. He is hated by everyone. Until he meets her.

"I have always had what amounts to a deadly personality combination. I inspireirrational hatred in others. And I have a short fuse." - The Common Land

The founders of Fine Mess Theatre are former Brightonians and Sussex University theatre graduates, and are delighted to be returning to Brighton with a devastating but touching one-man show, written and performed by Joel Samuels and featuring exclusive music from The Melodic.

"The teachers hated me. And the city, town and village people hated me. And my Dad hated me. And my Mum hated me. It wasn't my fault that I was good at school. And it wasn't my fault that I didn't care a jot for the lot of it. F*** it all. I had a friend." - The Common Land.
