American Production of Enda Walsh's Misterman to Wrap up Ireland and Northern Ireland Tour at Theatre at the Mill in Newtownabbey.

Resolve Productions is bringing Enda Walsh's Misterman to Theatre at the Mill in Newtownabbey in Northern Ireland. The Misterman tour began at the Granary in late September 2017. The production then traveled from Cork to the Balor Arts Centre in Donegal for a two night run as part of the Donegal Bay and Blue Stacks Festival. Misterman wowed at glór in Clare for a single performance before gearing up for the final run in Northern Ireland. Misterman will finish its tour at Theatre at the Mill in Newtownabbey in Northern Ireland for a three night run from 26- 28 October 2017. All shows are at 19:45 p.m and tickets begin at an affordable £6.50.

Inishfree might seem like a quaint Irish town, but fierce evangelist Thomas Magill knows better. He knows jovial Dwain Flynn is a miserable drunk, that Timmy O'Leary enslaves his lovely mother and that sweet Mrs. Cleary is a blasphemous flirt. It's down to Thomas, with God on his shoulder, to save this sinful place. But the townsfolk are not listening, an angel is misbehaving and a barking dog will not be silenced. Just how far will Thomas go in his quest for salvation?

"A seductive and terrifying portrait of a luminous madness that dares you not to look away." - New York Times.

Resolve Productions' Misterman enjoyed sold-out runs and glowing reviews from audiences and critics when it made its Colorado premiere at the Pagosa Springs Center for the Arts in 2014 in the US. Theatre critic Judith Reynolds, of the Durango Herald, praised this impressive production as a "rare opportunity to see a splendid performance by an emerging American actor in a gripping new Irish Play." Rave reviews continued the following year at The Dairy Center as the show headlined The Boulder Arts Festival in Boulder, Colorado. Chris Arneson of Broadway World calling the production "an enigmatic excursion through the mind of a man trying to interpret his own journey." The play is directed by Melissa Firlit and the lead role of Thomas Magill is played by Craig MacArthur.

Craig and Melissa became enamored with this play in the early 2000s while the two were graduate students at the Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University. The pair spent a full month incubating this passion project in 2014 to develop their version of the production, bringing in fellow Rutgers alum Elaine Wong (lighting) and Matt Bitner (sound) to round out their vision. They created such excitement for their production of Mr. Walsh's critically acclaimed one man show, that the US runs featured Academy Award winner Olympia Dukakis, voicing the role of Mammy, and Henry Award winner John Ashton, voicing the role of Mr. McAnerny. In addition to other Irish talent, this tour features Irelands own Terry Donnelly ast the needy, but lovable Mammy.

Resolve Productions has been thrilled to bring Misterman to Ireland on a three city tour and to Northern Ireland for a three night run. The added thrill, honor and pressure of being Americans presenting a beloved Irish playwright's work at home in Ireland is sure to add a palpable energy of excitement, nerves and brilliance to the stage. American cultural differences will prove to be both entertaining and thought provoking as Craig brings life to Thomas Magill's internal struggle and external interactions with this seemingly typical Irish town.

Not since Enda Walsh first brought Thomas Magill to life at the Granary Theatre in 1999 had Misterman been performed there. The glór performance include a unique opportunity to discuss the production with the team during a talkback immediately following the performance. Theatre at the Mill will conclude this highly anticipated tour on a high note before taking the show back to the states.
