Ali Cook Comes to Swindon

This Autumn, magician and screen actor Ali Cook, who is known for performing big tricks in tight spaces, takes his very highly acclaimed new show Principles Of Deception on a UK tour. Ali's magical style is a curious combination of dexterous sleight of hand alongside rarely seen grand stage illusions, which have received nightly standing ovations at his sell out shows Principles And Deceptions and Pieces Of Strange in Edinburgh 2010 and 2011, which have been combined for this spectacular tour.

The show takes its name from Arthur Buckley's 1948 text, Principles and Deceptions - the first book to categorize every style of magic - Principles of Deception demonstrates Ali Cook's skill as a historian of deception as he breaks the magician code by performing cross genre; literally performing every type of magic categorized in the book, from regurgitating goldfish, to levitating an audience member, to Derren Brown style mind-reading.

Ali has starred in the West End illusion show, Impossible; seven television series including Penn & Teller: Fool Us (ITV), Dirty Tricks (Channel 4), Secret World of Magic (Sky One), Now You See It (BBC One) Monkey Magic (five) & Psychic Secrets (five).

In addition to his comedy and illusion work, Ali has taken acting roles in the TV series: ABC Murders (BBC1) Emmerdale (ITV) and Mr. Selfridge (ITV), as well as film roles in the political satire How To Sell A War (2018, Film and Music Entertainment) in which he co-stars with Katherine Parkinson, In The Cloud (2017, Sony) with Gabriel Byrne, the BAFTA nominated film Kajaki (2015, Pukka Films), The Anomaly (2014, Universal Pictures) and The Messenger (2015, directed by the Emmy Award winner David Blair).
