Ambassador Theatre Group (ATG) - the world's number one live-theatre company with over 40 venues - has topped the sixth annual Sunday Times HSBC International Track 200, published today (12 July).

The Sunday Times HSBC International Track 200 league table ranks Britain's mid-market private companies with the fastest-growing international sales.

The list is sponsored by HSBC and compiled by Fast Track, the Oxford-based research and networking events company.

ATG is British theatre's great commercial success story. Co-founded by Sir Howard Panter and Rosemary Squire OBE in 1992, ATG is the world's number one live-theatre company with over 40 venues in Britain and on Broadway and an internationally recognised award-winning theatre producer with productions in the West End and on Broadway and touring productions in the UK, North America, Europe, Australia and Asia. ATG is also the market leader in theatre ticketing services through ATG Tickets, LOVETheatre and Group Line.

ATG's Joint CEO, Rosemary Squire, first ever woman EY Entrepreneur of the Year in the UK, commented on the company's global success. She said, "The UK is world leader in theatre and it is one of our country's greatest exports. Our international vision at ATG is to continue to roll out our unique integrated business model of theatre ownership, productions and ticketing globally. We are encouraged by our success in North America, Asia Pacific and German speaking countries so far, and will continue to build on it. Therefore, to top The Sunday Times International Track 200 list is a great achievement for our company and clearly resonates with our international strategy."

Amanda Murphy, UK head of corporate banking at HSBC, commented, "The Sunday Times HSBC International Track 200 is a great reflection of the value of building connections overseas. The world is getting smaller, and international business relationships are easier to build, providing ambitious businesses with many more opportunities to grow. I'm delighted to see so many great British mid-sized firms making such a strong impression on the world stage."

ATG and its partner companies produce over 50 shows a year, which demonstrate a unique quality and diversity in numerous theatres and markets worldwide. The company has offices in London, New York, Sydney, Cologne and Mannheim, Germany.

Current and recent ATG co-productions include The Ruling Class starring James McAvoy, Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown starring Tamsin Greig, East is East starring Jane Horrocks, Richard III starring Martin Freeman, Arcadia and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels starring Robert Lindsay.

Productions in Australia include The Rocky Horror Show, Legally Blonde the Musical, Thriller Live, Guys and Dolls and West Side Story. ATG produced Constellations on Broadway and its co-venture of Lincoln Center Theatre's production of The King and I collected four Tony Awards in 2015 including Best Revival of a Musical.

ATG production companies and partnerships include Sonia Friedman Productions (SFP) - which recently opened a new musical version of Bend it Like Beckham to 5 star acclaim and next month will open Benedict Cumberbatch in Hamlet - First Family Entertainment (FFE), Jerry Mitchell Productions, Jamie Lloyd Productions and Theatre Royal Brighton Productions.

In 2013, ATG acquired The Lyric Theatre, the largest theatre on Broadway. The newly refurbished Lyric Theatre re-opened its doors in 2014 in dramatic style and welcomed audiences to the acclaimed Broadway revival of On the Town. In 2015, ATG became the majority shareholder of BB Group, one of the leading producers and promoters of premium live entertainment in Europe.

ATG is also soon to announce more venues in North America and Australia.

ATG is majority owned by Providence Equity Partners, one of the world's premier private equity firms and the leading global investor specialized in the media, communications, education and information industries. Providence has over $40 billion in assets under management.
