A vibrant mix of music and dance brings an ancient Chinese mythological creature to life, when The Garden Little Night Orchestra presents The Legend of Huli. The enchanting experience is based on ancient legends of the Celestial Fox, collected by Chinese philosopher Pu Songling (1640-1715). With choreography by David Giller, it features music that ranges from baroque to flamenco, jazz, world music, and modern classics, both original and in arrangements.
Led by composer, arranger, and guitarist Roman Smirnov, the dazzlingly versatile four-member ensemble also includes acclaimed Chinese pipa virtuoso Wen Zhao; oud, lyra and percussion player Demetrios Petsalakis; and David Giller as dancer. In his short professional career, Giller has appeared in music videos and many other settings, and is currently a dancer for MLSE at Raptors and Argos home games.
