Prima Facie is a powerful play that explores the complexities of the legal system through the eyes of Tessa, a young and skilled barrister portrayed by Bethany Jillard. As Tessa defends men accused of sexual assault, she is forced to confront the harsh realities of patriarchal power and moral dilemmas when an unexpected event disrupts her professional life. Written by Suzie Miller, this Canadian premiere offers a compelling narrative about the intersections of emotion and justice, and is directed by acclaimed theatre artist Seana McKenna. This production is part of the Off-Mirvish season at the CAA Theatre from January to February 2027.
