CanStage presents

The Rink-A-Dink Inc. production of

Ronnie Burkett Theatre of Marionettes in:

10 DAYS ON EARTH

Created and Performed by Ronnie Burkett

Toronto, ON "If you were alone, but didn't know it, would you feel lonely?" A mentally challenged adult lives with his mother who has died in her bed. For the next 10 days, he innocently carries on in the simple world he knows. A tender, funny and unapologetic story that celebrates a mother's love for her son in all its honesty and fierce, unwavering will.

Internationally-acclaimed for his adult puppetry, Ronnie Burkett (CanStage's Provenance, Happy, Street of Blood and Tinka's New Dress) returns to CanStage with music and sound designer Cathy Nosaty (CanStage's The Goat or, Who is Sylvia?, My Mother's Feet, Provenance, Happy, Street of Blood, Tinka's New Dress), lighting designer Bill Williams (CanStage's Provenance, Happy, Street of Blood) and stage manager Maria Popoff (CanStage's Ain't Misbehavin', Unless, Omnium Gatherum, Urinetown) with a play that is tender and heart-breakingly beautiful. Burkett, a Canadian treasure, once again creates an elaborate world of marionettes to tell his story with wit and sentiment. Bawdy and wry, Burkett's work plumbs the highs and lows of the human experience.

Burkett has won two Dora Awards, seven Sterling Awards, six Betty Awards, two Chalmers Canadian Play Awards, a GLAAD Media Award and a Special OBIE Citation from New York's Village Voice.

Note: 10 Days on Earth is a theatrical piece intended and created solely for a mature audience. Children under 14 will not be admitted.
