Theatre Français de Toronto Stages LES PRECIEUSES RIDICULES (THE PRECIOUS YOUNG LADIES), April 25-May 10

By:

Théâtre français de Toronto's is proud to present their musical production of Les Précieuses ridicules (The Precious Young Ladies) by Molière. Directed by Dora Award winning director Guy Miganult, the play opens on Friday, April 25 and runs to May 10 at the Berkeley Street Theatre, Upstairs.

A one-act comedy of manners in prose that takes a satiric aim at the extravagant and delicate ladies of the French bourgeoisie, Les Précieuses ridicules is considered a crowd-pleasing masterpiece of the French repertoire. In Théâtre français de Toronto's production, this Molière classic is given a modern and musical setting that reverberates in today's world, where a book is often judged by its cover. Discover or rediscover Molière with the help of Boris Vian, Brassens, and other modern poets and songwriters.

The cast of Les Precieuses features Sébastien Bertrand, Lina Blais, Andréane Bouladier, Alexandre Côté, Robert Godin, Chanda Legroulx, Nathalie Nadon, Nico Racicot, and Christopher Webb.

There will be two preview performances, tonight and tomorrow at 8 pm. Performance times are Wednesday to Saturday at 8 pm, with Saturday Matinees May 3 and 10 at 3:30 pm and Sunday Matinees April 27 and May 4 at 2:30 pm.
