The National Ballet of Canada Announces Health And Wellness Workshop For High School Students For a second year, The National Ballet of Canada invites high school students for a hands-on workshop, performance and backstage tour as part of the Ministry of Education's Specialist High Skills Major programme on March 1, 2018. This year, the National Ballet will conduct practicums for students that will introduce and provide insight into the skills required to work in the Health and Wellness industry at a major arts company.

Grade 11 and 12 students will attend an interactive workshop at the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts that provides them with insight into a career in the health and wellness sector in a performing arts organization. The workshop will be led by Company Athletic Therapist Paul Papoutsakis and Resident Pilates Teacher and former soloist Je-an Salas. The students will be given a certificate upon completion.

Following the workshops, students will attend Made in Canada at 2:00 pm which features a trio of ballets by three acclaimed Canadian choreographers: James Kudelka's The Four Seasons, Crystal Pite's Emergence and Robert Binet's The Dreamers Ever Leave You. Students will also be given a backstage tour of the Four Seasons Centre.

Participating in the workshops are students from three high schools from two school boards: Dante Alighieri Academy and Loretto College School from the Toronto Catholic District School Board and Nottawasaga Pines Secondary School from the Simcoe County District School Board.
