All Peter wants to do is Make Up For the worst mistake of his life -that's why he brought the flowers. They should fix things, right? In Osimous Theatre's production of The Pavilion by Craig Wright (Six Feet Under, Grace), nostalgia is the (prom) king that brings everyone together, telling the story of a yearning for the past strong enough that it will drive someone to attend their 20th high school reunion. The production will close on January 23.
Hailed by critics as an "an Our Town for our time," The Pavilion knits the cosmos into individual human relationships, building the entire history of the universe into one night. Peter (Craig Erickson) and Kari (Dawn Petten) haven't seen each other since the day Peter left twenty years ago... and now he's come to get her back. As the night progresses, both Peter and Kari are led, through their interactions with a host of characters all played by a virtuosic Narrator (Parnelli Parnes), to face the consequences of choices made long ago and start back into life with newfound strength and bittersweet resolve.Osimous Theatre launched from a conversation between Bob Frazer and Derek Metz. Created in 2010, the company is devoted to the tenet of ensemble performance through the collaboration of a core group of actors, directors and playwrights. Through generosity and teamwork, the company's mission is to foster the growth of performance, direction and playwrighting while advancing the level of excellence in Canadian Theatre. Mutual respect, dedication and a passion for the work is at the heart of Osimous Theatre's beliefs.
