Latest Fenton & White Comedy THE HAPPINESS EQUATION Gets First Reading At Lunchbox Theatre In Calgary
On May 25th, Calgary theatregoers will get a sneak peek at The Happiness Equation, a new comedy written by Peter Fenton (Bemused, The Giant's Garden) and Scott White (Bosco & Jones, Top Gun! The Musical). This reading is part of the Suncor Stage One Festival of New Canadian Work at Lunchbox Theatre.
The reading will be directed by Shari Wattling (Dramaturge for many seasons for Theatre Calgary and Alberta Theatre Projects) and will feature Andy Curtis (Doing Leonard Cohen, The 39 Steps) Katherine Fadum (Grease, Gentleman Prefer Blondes), Duval Lang (The Exotic Anguish Of Don Juan, You Will Remember Me) and Valerie Ann Pearson (Lion In The Streets, For The Pleasure of Seeing Her Again).
When Jackson and Carrie go on a first date, they are surprised to discover they spend more time talking about Carrie's widowed father and Jackson's divorced mother than they do about themselves. All they want is for their parents to be happy. Things take a turn for the unexpected when they decide to set their single parents up on a surprise double date. The Happiness Equation is a warm-hearted comedy that explores how easy it is to lose our own sense of joy in the process of trying to ensure the happiness of others.
The first public reading will take place at 6:00 pm on May 25th at Lunchbox Theatre in Calgary as part of the Suncor Stage One Festival of New Canadian Work.
