The Toronto Theatre Critics Awards were established last year to honour the best in Toronto theatre.  This year they're back, and BWW has the full list of winners! The awards were decided by critics from The Globe and Mail (J. Kelly Nestruck), The Grid (Martin Morrow), National Post (Robert Cushman), NOW Magazine (Glenn Sumi) and Toronto Star (Richard Ouzounian).

Big winner's this year include last year's Toronto Fringe hit Kim's Convenience (currently enjoying its second engagement at Soulpepper) and Atomic Vaudeville's Ride the Cyclone which played to sold-out audiences earlier this year at Theatre Passe Muraille.  Acting UpStage's Caroline or Change is the stand-out in the musical category, being recognized as the Best Production of a Musical as well as Best Actress in a Musical for Arlene Duncan and Best Supporting Actress in a Musical for Deborah Hay.  In addition, Eric Peterson (Billy Bishop Goes to War, The Test, Corner Gas) was recognized with a special citation.
