I'M DOING THIS FOR YOU to be Part of Soulpepper Theatre Company's 20th Anniversary Season

Never Mind The Noise is pleased to announce that following its current international tour, Haley McGee's latest performance, I'm Doing This For You, returns to Toronto as part of Soulpepper Theatre Company's 20th Anniversary Season, playing at the Young Centre for the Performing Arts from May 3 - 6, 2017. Opening Night is May 4.

Blending storytelling, live-art and improvisation, I'm Doing This For You is a big romantic gesture made by a woman for a man. He's an aspiring stand-up comedian. Today is his birthday. The audience is her gift to him. It's a surprise. I'm Doing This For You is filled with surprising turns from the hilarious to the humiliating, exploring the extremes a person will go to in the name of eradicating loneliness. It is directed by Mitchell Cushman, with dramaturgy by Deborah Pearson.

After performances at The Palace Festival (Piotrowice Nyskie, Poland) Battersea Arts Centre (London, UK), Bike Shed Theatre (Exeter, UK) and Tampereen Teatterikesä (Tampere Theatre Festival, Finland), I'm Doing This For You continues its tour atSummerhall as part of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, August 5 - 28, 4:15pm (not Aug 8, 15, 22), then closes the tour at the Comedy Café, Benedenzaal as part of the Amsterdam Fringe, Sept 7 - 10, 7:00pm.

I'm Doing This For You was developed in residence at Battersea Arts Centre and the National Theatre School of Canada, workshopped at Theatre Passe Muraille's BUZZ Festival and supported by the Canada Council for the Arts. It premiered in the fall of 2015 at DaPoPo Theatre's Live-In Festival (Halifax, Canada), where it was named one of Halifax's Top 10 Plays of 2015 (The Coast), presented at Theaterdiscounter (Berlin, Germany) and The Basement (Brighton, UK), followed by a sold-out pop-up run in Toronto at Theatre Passe Muraille, Storefront Theatre & Videofag.
