Grammy Winning Songwriter Janis Ian in Rare Central Ontario Concert this September

On September 11th & 12th, Midland Cultural Centre's "The Legends of Folk" Series proudly presents Janis Ian for an intimate interview and performance. She has been a professional singer-songwriter since the age of twelve. Based in Nashville, she is the recipient of two Grammy Awards and nine Grammy nominations and has also received honours from a host of organizations, including the Human Rights Campaign Fund and MADD.
Her tours have sold out in every country she's ever visited, and her songs have been recorded by artists as diverse as John Mellencamp, Amy Grant, Diane Schuur, and Joan Baez. Janis Ian has dueted with Willie Nelson, Dolly Parton, Mel Torme and, most recently, Trevor Sewell; their single, released only in the UK, jumped up the jazz charts.She has released 22 major label albums that have sold over 9 million copies worldwide. She is most-recognized for her songs "At Seventeen" and"Society's Child".
