This "amusing tale of matrimonial bliss takes place in the honeymoon suite of a quaint English country inn, which quickly becomes a centre of chaos and confusion on the morning of Bill and Rachel’s wedding day.

"Starting it all off, Bill wakes up with a horrendous hangover from his bachelor party and finds an unknown and unclothed woman in his bed. Desperate to conceal this potentially scandalous situation, Bill leans on his best man Tom for support. The two devise a plan in which the mysterious woman will pose as Tom’s girlfriend in order to avoid suspicion.

"But of course, in the world of farces, nothing ever goes as planned. So when the bride-to-be arrives to dress for the nuptials, she unwittingly sets in motion a series of mutual misunderstandings, double entendres, and startling revelations that threaten to derail her big day.

"Added to this confusion is a pair of horrible in-laws and a chambermaid who knows too much (and yet nothing at all). And while the events of the night before start to become clear, the groom’s dilemma only worsens, to great comic effect.

"In true farcical fashion, Perfect Wedding exploits the multi-door set design to great comic effect. Characters burst in and out as they try in vain to resolve the tangled mess of lies and deception.

"The key to a successful farce is timing, and Director James Kall has staged madcap pacing to maximize the hilarity in this clever script. As he has proven with past Drayton Entertainment productions, Kall’s timing is spot-on and he clearly brings out the best in each of his talented performers.

"Darren Keay is exceptionally amusing as Bill, the bewildered groom who is suffering from a terrible hangover and can’t recall events from his bachelor party the night before. Keay convincingly conveys shock and disbelief, and keeps the audience in stitches.

"David Leyshon brings a unique energy as Tom, the best man who has the audience reeling with laughter. While trying to stand by his buddy, Tom discovers the real secret that the groom attempted to conceal.

"Gabi Epstein delights as the comical and oblivious chambermaid Julie, who is inadvertently brought into the escapades as Tom’s girlfriend. Epstein continues to surprise the audience with her forward side-splitting comments as the true story unravels before her eyes.

"Jackie Mustakas is immensely appealing as the under-dressed, wild-haired unknown 'other woman. She takes what could be a one-note character and gives many layers as she tries to conceal her true identity.

"Josée Boudreau is a perfect fit for Rachel, the always-in-command Bride. Boudreau conveys a strong but innocent bride, who constantly demands the attention of her groom and his best man.

"Just like any wedding, this matrimonial comedy isn’t without the future-in-laws. Karen Wood creates a believable representation of the sweet, caring, but overly emotional mother-of-the-bride, Daphne.

"Set Designer Jeff Johnston Collins has captured the essence of an old-fashioned country inn setting for this whirlwind story. Two distinct rooms within the honeymoon suite are aptly distinguished by Lighting Designer Lyle Franklin. Costume Design by Jessica Bray brings together the charming feeling of an English country wedding."

Robin Hawdon’s Perfect Wedding has been a widely successful comedy with several hundred productions in over twenty countries around the world. Drayton Entertainment’s winning version is certain to continue the trend.

“If you’re looking for a fun evening out, this is definitely the play for you,” says Artistic Director Alex Mustakas. “Perfect Wedding is guaranteed to keep you in stitches!”
