Cavalia Premieres ODYSSEO in Mississauga!

Following two very successful engagements in Toronto in 2012 and 2015, Odysseo by Cavalia returns to Ontario next summer with its debut run in Mississauga. The $30 million theatrical extravaganza that expands the definition of performance into an epic and soulful experience, will be presented under the White Big Top next to the Hershey Centre in Mississauga starting Wednesday, June 28, 2017, with matinee and evening shows scheduled through Sunday, July 16 2017. An integral part of Canada's cultural heritage, Cavalia is launching a Canadian tour with Odysseo for 2017. "Cavalia is thrilled to present Odysseo in Mississauga next summer. After breaking sales record with two different engagements in Toronto, the company has chosen to develop a new market and immerse itself in the local community of Mississauga. "We are glad this initiative came to fruition for our production, but we are also proud to pave the way with the City for other large-scale events, such as Odysseo, to follow our innovative lead and visit the vibrant community of Mississauga, Canada's sixth largest city," added Mr. Latourelle.

Odysseo, the single largest and most technologically advanced touring show in the world, is a veritable revolution in live performance. Mississauga and Ontario-wide audiences will be taken on an amazing journey to some of nature's greatest wonders by this breathtaking production that features 65 magnificent horses and 48 talented riders, acrobats, aerialists, dancers and musicians.

The four-legged stars play and perform with freedom, in a magical relationship with their human counterparts. A liberty act, in which purebred Arabian horses are directed only by the soft murmurs of their trainer, and a caravan act that comprises people and horses too numerous to count, are amongst the many breathtaking scenes that will leave every spectator captivated. Deploying their extraordinary talents, the acrobats present a mix of force and sensitivity, interacting with the audience, while the live musicians and vocalist immerse spectators of all ages in a beautiful sensory experience.

Odysseo's theatrical effects are as spectacular as they are numerous: a state-of-the art projection screen which is three times the size of the world's largest projection screen, a life-size merry-go-round purpose built for the show, a three-story mountain for dazzling perspectives, and a real lake made of 150 000 litres of recycled water which magically appears for a splashing finale.

Since its Montreal world premiere in 2011, the Odysseo troupe has mesmerized more than 2 million spectators in Canada, United States and Mexico. Still wowing critics and audiences alike across North America, Odysseo will conclude its US West Coast engagements before moving its White Big Top first to Vancouver, next to Chicago and then to Mississauga for its premiere in June 2017.
