After opening to sensational reviews and enjoying strong ticket sales, Cavalia has announced a 6th and final week of performances in Calgary and must close July 3, 2011 to meet its touring commitments in Quebec City.
"The response to Cavalia has been wonderful in Calgary, it's a real horse town" said Normand Latourelle, Cavalia's president and artistic director. "We wish we could stay longer, but we have already pushed back our opening date in Quebec City, and can delay no longer.
So far more than 55,000 people have obtained tickets to Cavalia's extraordinary Calgary engagement under the White Big Top at Canada Olympic Park. The lavish, uplifting multi-media and multi-disciplinary celebration of the relationship between human and horse, premiered Wednesday, May 25 to rave reviews. "Cavalia is an equine wonder" declares Calgary Herald's Stephen Hunt. "A beautifully, magical, enthralling spectacle" said Louis Hobson of the Calgary Sun.
