On the tail of its recent successes, such as Young Frankenstein, The Crucible, It's a Wonderful Life, Man of La Mancha and The Mystery of Edwin Drood, Toronto's dynamic Alexander Showcase Theatre presents Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, A Musical Thriller.

Stephen Sondheim's devilishly hilarious masterpiece, winner of 8 Tony Awards including "Best Musical", tells the story of a man accused of a crime he didn't commit, who is sentenced to 15 years while his wife and daughter are taken from him by the very man who wronged him.

Follow Sweeney Todd (a.k.a. Benjamin Barker), your favourite maniacal hairdresser, as he teams up with Mrs. Lovett, the enterprising purveyor of London's tastiest meat pies, on an unusual journey of revenge. Gloriously gruesome and remarkably funny, Sweeney Todd is a must-see musical! "Attend the tale of Sweeney Todd!"
