YOU'RE A GOOD MAN, CHARLIE BROWN Comes To The Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center

GOOD GRIEF, IT'S CHARLIE BROWN! And he is coming to the Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center in March!

Twenty-five years ago Actors' Repertory Theatre of Simi (ARTS) opened their production of YOU'RE A GOOD MAN, CHARLIE BROWN as the inaugural musical on stage at the Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center featuring an all youth cast. ARTS will return with an all-new production of the show featuring an adult cast from March 7- April 5, 2020 with performances Friday and Saturday evenings at 8 pm and Sunday matinees at 2:15 pm. They will also present a special version of YOU'RE A GOOD MAN, CHARLIE BROWN featuring an all youth cast at 2:15 pm on Saturday, March 21 & 28 and April 4, 2020. The newly revised version features all of the same songs and lovable characters everyone has known and enjoyed for generations. Tickets are $28 for Adults, $24 for Seniors & Students, and $20 for Children 12 & Under and may be purchased online at www.simi-arts.org or by calling the Cultural Arts Center box office at 805-583-7900. This show is suitable for all ages.

Charles Schulz's beloved comic comes to life in Clark Gesner's classic musical, YOU'RE A GOOD MAN, CHARLIE BROWN. The whole gang is here: bossy Lucy is hopelessly in love with piano prodigy Schroeder who doesn't give her the time of day, perfectionist Sally is still mocking blanket-toting Linus, Snoopy is in the doghouse, and "blockhead," himself, Charlie Brown, is in rare form. Brief vignettes span the months from Valentine's Day to Beethoven Day, from wild optimism to utter despair. In this revised version, with additional music and lyrics by Andrew Lippa and dialogue by Michael Mayer, the sweet, joyful innocence of the Peanuts gang is maintained, but a fresh insouciance and playfulness is revealed. The new script features two new songs, particularly funny dialogue, and new, catchy orchestrations. Whether you're keen to fly with the Red Baron, moon over the Moonlight Sonata, or just do your best to find "Happiness," YOU'RE A GOOD MAN, CHARLIE BROWN is a crowd-pleasing classic.

Join Charlie Brown, Lucy, Linus, Schroeder, Sally and of course, Snoopy at the Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center for YOU'RE A GOOD MAN, CHARLIE BROWN from March 7-April 5! Tickets are $28 Adults, $24 Seniors & Students, and $20 Children 12 & Under and are on sale now at www.simi-arts.org or by calling 805-583-7900.
