Santa Paula Theater Center Mounts Sam Shepard's TRUE WEST

The Santa Paula Theater Center located at 125 So. 7th St. in downtown Santa Paula continues its 2018 Season with Sam Shepard's TRUE WEST running Aug. 31-Oct. 7. Tickets may be purchased online at www.santapaulatheatercenter.org or for information and ordering by email at santapaulatheatercenter@gmail.com or by phone at 805-525-4645. The play contains colorful language, mature themes recommended for audiences 17 and above.

TRUE WEST IS considered among the late Sam Shepard's most seminal plays and is a darkly comedic and sometimes terrifying powder keg showdown of sibling rivalry. Set in their mother's suburban kitchen in her absence, brothers Lee and Austin battle and bond over the course of a week creating some of the most gripping theater you'll see this year. The Santa Paula Theater Center production has two of Ventura Couny's finest actors, Ron Feltner and Brian Robert Harris, playing the brothers and alternating roles every other weekend. Opening weekend Lee will be played by Mr. Feltner and Austin played by Mr. Harris. Supporting players are Nigel Chisolm as Saul and Nancy Solomons as Mom.

Jessi May Stevenson directs this production and is supported by Producer Leslie Nichols, scenic designer Mike Carnahan, lighting designer Gary Richardson, costumer Barbara Pedziwiatr, properties designer Gail Heck, and sound designer Allan Noel. Leticia Mattson is the Rehearsal Stage Manager and Karl Krause is the Production Stage Manager.

TRUE WEST will be presented Friday and Saturday evenings at 8 pm and Sunday afternoon at 2:30 pm on the Main Stage at the Santa Paula Theater Center. Tickets are available online at www.santapaulatheatercenter.org or via the email at santapaulatheatercenter@gmail.com
