Suncoast AIDS Theatre Project Stages BLOWN BY THE WIND Tonight

By:

Suncoast AIDS Theatre Project is celebrating its 11-Year Anniversary with their Annual "Prelude to Pride" salute with an original adaptation by T. Scott Wooten entitled BLOWN BY THE WIND; a hilarious and naughty sendup of the fabled classic film "Gone With The Wind". This "Wind" is just in time for St. Petersburg Pride Celebration so come join the fun, following Scarlett, Rhett and her friends as they recall a civilization, blown by the wind.

PRELUDE TO PRIDE: BLOWN BY THE WIND stars Matt McGee, as Scarlet; ShaRon Scott as Mammy, Joey Panek as Ashley; Betty Jane Parks as Melanie; Chris Jackson as Rhett; Sara DelBeato as Belle; and Joe Parra as Mr. O'Hara.

T. Scott Wooten adapted the story and Michael Raabe will accompany the cast at the keyboard. All performers are donating their time and talents for this production.

These two performances will benefit PWA (People with AIDS) programs at Metropolitan Charities of Pinellas.

Suncoast AIDS Theatre Project is a 501(c) 3 not-for-profit organization whose mission is to raise awareness, provide assistance, and perpetuate a life of dignity for those affected and infected by HIV and AIDS.

PRELUDE TO PRIDE: BLOWN BY THE WIND will perform: tonight, June 17th and Monday, June 24, 2012 at American Stage Theatre, 163 3rd St. N. St. Petersburg. Doors open at 7:00pm, curtain time is 7:30pm. Admission is Pay-What-You-Will at the door. Advance purchase tickets are available for $15. Cash bar will be available.
