Renee Fleming to Perform Alongside Sarasota Orchestra at Van Wezel in January
Sarasota is about to witness an incredible collaboration which brings together three partners dedicated to providing top-rated performances and arts education to the sun-coast area. The groundbreaking collaboration, which includes the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall, Sarasota Orchestra, and the Van Wezel Foundation is proud to present four-time Grammy Award-winner, Renée Fleming in performance with the Sarasota Orchestra on January 27, 2016, at 8pm. Tickets go on sale September 12.
Renowned soprano Renée Fleming will make her Sarasota premiere at the Van Wezel with a concert of beloved songs and arias, backed by the nationally-acclaimed Sarasota Orchestra, conducted by Music Director, Anu Tali. The program of favorites will include opera classics and some surprises.
One of the most celebrated musical ambassadors of our time, Ms. Fleming is a four-time Grammy winner and is known as the 'Peoples' Diva.' She was awarded the National Medal of Arts, America's highest honor for an individual artist, in 2013. Her sumptuous voice, consummate artistry and compelling stage presence will give you an evening to remember forever!
