TIM a novel written by Australian icon Colleen McCullough and adapted for the stage by acclaimed playwright Tim McGarry, will perform at Riverside Theatres from 31 August to 2 September 2023.
TIM is a new Australian play filled with notions of love, loss and acceptance, and set in the modern day.
Central to the story is an unorthodox love that develops between Mary, a career driven business executive in her mid-50s, and Tim, a handsome 25-year-old labourer with a mild intellectual disability. Sheltered from the world by his loving working-class family, Tim is often the brunt of ridicule by those around him, particularly his uncharitable work mates.
The mainstay of Sydney’s high summer season, Sydney Festival, sails back this January with a first class line-up of World Premieres, extraordinary immersive experiences, cutting-edge public art, Australian exclusives, free events, trailblazing First Nations programming and an epic live music offering.
