The Sydney International Piano Competition (The Sydney) is delighted to announce a special, one-off, pop-up concert featuring world-renowned pianist and The Sydney’s Artistic Director, Piers Lane AO, on Monday 29 May.
Held in Sydney’s historic Queen Victoria Building, Piers will perform three sets from 11:30am-2:30pm on the QVB’s beloved baby grand piano, giving audiences a taste of the myriad of music they can expect to hear in July.
The Sydney is one of the main international events of its kind, attracting the very best talents from across the world, as they compete for prestigious prizes from 5 to 22 July.

Playwright
Mary Sue Price is an Emmy award-winning television writer and
playwright whose work has been produced throughout the United
States. She’s working on a Tulsa Opera commission production and
is a recent recipient of an Artists 360 grant to work on
‘Streets of Gold,’ a musical set in 1990s Branson with music and
lyrics by Robin and Linda Williams. She has completed three
artist residencies at The Inge Center in Independence, KS,
working on ‘The Chat Rats Trilogy,’ three plays about the lead
and zinc mining industry. Her short play, ‘That Midnight Rodeo’,
set in southwest Missouri, was produced Off Broadway and is
published in the Vintage ‘Take Ten’ anthology. She holds an MFA
in Dramatic Writing from Tisch/New York University.
She has deep roots in the Ozarks and came home in 2019 after
many years in New York City and Vermont. She lives in
Fayetteville, Arkansas.
