Thrilling New Work By Young Composers Announced at North Sydney Concert Today The Independent Theatre hosts a concert of fresh new compositions by young Sydney composers Alice Chance and Alex Palmer on Saturday 20 October from 8pm.

Alice & Alex have written for stage, screen and theatre. This fresh program brings an hour of new music performed by a chamber ensemble of fine young players and singers- and all in the elegant and acoustically spectacular Independent Theatre, North Sydney.

The program will feature both instrumental and vocal music ranging from the uplifting to the funny, sparky, poignant and ethereal- all performed by the thrilling young Geist Quartet with soprano Chloe Lankshear and pianist Benjamin Burton.

24-year-old Alice Chance is a fast-emerging young composer whose works have been performed across Australia. She is particularly noted for her works for choir, having composed for the Adelaide Chamber Singers, Luminescence Chamber Singers, the Australian Boys Choir, the Sydney Children's Choir and the Australian Youth Choir.

Alex Palmer (26) has composed for the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra, Budapest Arts Orchestra, London Session Orchestra and for a range of film and theatre productions. He is also the NSW Director of the not-for-profit organisation, Out for Australia.
