The Sydney Symphony Orchestra will be the first Australian orchestra to present LA LA LAND IN CONCERT, in two performances at the Sydney Opera House announced today. These concerts on 7 & 8 December will feature a 100-piece orchestra performing composer Justin Hurwitz's Oscar®-winning score live on stage in accompaniment to a full screening of the critically-acclaimed film.

Winner of six Academy Awards® including Best Original Score and Best Original Song, LA LA LAND tells the story of Mia (Emma Stone), an aspiring actress, and Sebastian (Ryan Gosling), a dedicated jazz musician, who are struggling to make ends meet in a city known for crushing hopes and breaking hearts. Set in modern day Los Angeles, this original musical about everyday life explores the joy and pain of pursuing your dreams.

LA LA LAND writer and director Damien Chazelle said: "For me, one of the most thrilling and fulfilling parts of making LA LA LAND was scoring the film to a live orchestra: a hundred phenomenal local musicians playing in real-time to the Technicolor images, bringing Justin's compositions to vivid life."

Released by Lionsgate's Summit Entertainment label, LA LA LAND is the winner of six Academy Awards® including Best Actress Emma Stone, who stars alongside Ryan Gosling (Academy Award® nominee for Best Actor) and John Legend, whose recorded vocal performance will be featured in this event. The film has already grossed nearly US$400 million at the worldwide box office.

LA LA LAND IN CONCERT will premiere on 26 May & 27 May at Los Angeles' iconic Holloywood Bowl.
