Riverside Theatres Presents THE NECKS Image

One of the greatest cult bands in Australia, experimental jazz trio The Necks, will perform at Riverside Theatres on Sunday 4th February as part of their Australian tour.

The Necks is Chris Abrahams on piano, Tony Buck on drums and Lloyd Swanton on bass. Together, they are renowned for their live chemistry and minimalist mastery, and have been lauded as 'one of the greatest bands in the world' by the New York Times.

The performance at Riverside Theatres will feature The Necks' renowned experimental style where the music is invented in real time, and no two performances are alike. Underpinned by an insistent deep groove, their pieces slowly unravel in a mesmerising fashion and audiences can expect a hypnotic and thrilling emotional journey into the unknown!

Over the past three decades, The Necks have carved an incredible international reputation thanks to the release of 16 albums, and concerts at venues across the globe including Sydney Opera House, the Barbican in London and Roulette in New York.

The upcoming Australian tour follows a busy 2017 for The Necks which has included the release of their acclaimed double LP titled Unfold, a successful tour of the US and Europe, and opening for Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds on their recent Australian tour.

Following Riverside Theatres, The Necks will continue their tour of VIC, TAS and NSW.
